ZD Publishing, Inc. was established in 1995 in Wichita, KS. The purpose is to write and publish Pilot-friendly manuals about how to operate the various GPS units used in aviation. We presently have 16 manuals for Bendix/King, Garmin and Lowrance aviation units both panel mounted IFR certified units and handheld navigation aids.

The genesis of the business was to lower the learning curve of the basic operations for those pilots being introduced to GPS units for the first time. It has since evolved into explaining all the GPS operations each unit is capable of. Although the manufacturer's manuals contain the official operating procedures, ZD Publishing, Inc. concentrates on the easiest way to accomplish any given operation. Our task-oriented format leads you step-by-step through the selected procedure from beginning to end.

We chose the printed manual format for ease of use. You can take it with you - no need to be at a computer. The 8 1/2 x 11" format allows for print size large enough to be easily readable at night in turbulance. The spiral binding is rugged and allows the manual to be folded back upon itself which cuts the footprint in half.
